Proud to announce...

LEYH and LE+ Developer Named Digital Champion of the Year at Third Sector Awards

Daniel Clark of Feel Created, developer of Learning English in Yorkshire and the Humber (LEYH) and Learning English Plus (LE+), has been named Digital Champion of the Year at the Third Sector Awards 2022.

Dan was recognised for developing the two websites, which were funded by Migration Yorkshire, in partnership with the Migrant English Support Hub (MESH) and for his ongoing strategic technology input.

With Dan’s assistance, the MESH team have evolved and grown the LEYH and LE+ online provisions to benefit migrant learners and English for Speakers for Other Languages (ESOL) professionals in the region.

MESH Director, Catherine Hemmings, said: “Digitally developing a small charity requires a high degree of trust when working with technology partners. We appreciate Dan’s straightforward approach and value his input –  we’re thrilled he won this award! LEYH and LE+ were developed to support ESOL learners and professionals in Yorkshire and the Humber, but LE+, in particular, has proved useful to users nationwide.”

Daniel Clark, lead developer at Feel Created, added: “I’ve enjoyed helping the MESH team expand their digital provision. What started as a simple web build has grown to incorporate additional useful functionality as the team continually aims to improve the resources for ESOL learners and professionals. I’m delighted that my contribution to this project was recognised with an award!”

Both LEYH and LE+ utilise advanced search and categorisation functionality. On LEYH, learners can locate nearby classes using their postcode. On LE+ users can search various ESOL resources and information on training and events.

The Third Sector Awards programme recognises the achievements of charities of all sizes, providing a platform for examples of good practice in the sector. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony at The Brewery, London, on Friday, 30th September 2022.
