Tell us More - Student Volunteers at Kirklees College, Huddersfield
Welcome to MESH ‘Tell Us More’. In this feature, we aim to find out more about interesting or innovative initiatives for people working in the ESOL sector and others who work with migrants in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
In a short interview, we talk to key people, giving them the chance to tell us all about what they are doing and how it can work to help deliver support to learners. We will add to this series regularly, so do check the LE+ Staffroom for new additions. If you have a suggestion for initiatives we should feature in this series, or otherwise would like to comment, please do email us at info@yhmesh.org.uk. We would love to hear from you!
This Tell us More feature is all about the Student Volunteer programme at Kirklees College. MESH volunteer Basema talks to Student Volunteer Shahbanoo, and to Sophie Alderheart, Digital Lead for ESOL at the college. The programme is a resounding success, and is helping ESOL learners at Level 1 or higher to get valuable experience of being a teaching assistant in an ESOL classroom.
