    Fighting the UK’s Anti-Refugee Laws – Online Panel Event Published on 21 November 2022
    An online panel event coming up aimed at students, this also includes people who would like to attend university but are unable to access it due to their immigration status. November 29th 17:00 – 18:15 Join to hear from expert speakers who will be discussing how current government policy is impacting on the lives of people seeking safety in the UK, and what we can do about it.

    Modern Slavery Awareness Film Published on 31 October 2022
    The Leeds City Council Migration team worked in partnership with the Leeds City Council Safeguarding and Domestic Violence team, Hope for Justice (a charity working with victims of modern slavery) and West Yorkshire Police to create a film that raises awareness of modern slavery. This film is available at their website, and is also in the Resources section of this website for use with ESOL classes.

    Special Offer – Our Lives books Published on 30 September 2022
    Special offer on the Our Lives series of readers written by authors from different countries (mostly ESOL students) about their experiences in their own countries and in Britain. The books are sold at £3 each plus postage, but they are now making a special half price offer for orders of 6 or more, so £1.50 each plus postage.
