    ESOL Research Community event: ESOL practitioners as researchers

    Online at 4:00 – 5.30pm
    NATECLA are pleased to host three talks where the presenters will share their research journeys: what inspires them, how they overcome challenges and what they have learnt as ESOL practitioners engaging in research. Each talk will last 10 minutes with 5 minutes for questions, then the final 30 minutes will be for more general discussions on the issues raised by the presenters.

    Leading on Child and Adult Safeguarding

    An interesting and informative training course for designated safeguarding officers, their alternates and all who lead on child safeguarding and adult safeguarding within their work setting and valid for three years.

    Training Series: Immigration law for migrant victims of domestic abuse

    A series of three training courses about immigration law for migrant victims of domestic abuse. The Courses are free and will be delivered online via Zoom by one of the immigration lawyers.
    Attending all three courses is not necessary; however, we encourage participation in all sessions for maximum benefit.

    This free interactive course will offer you the opportunity explore all aspects of setting up and running conversation clubs for ESOL learners. You may not be a volunteer yourself but if you are involved in running or delivering conversation clubs, this course may be of interest to you.
    The training is open to all but priority will be given to those who live or work in the South East of England.

    This interactive webinar explores resourceless teaching in a TELLs context. Aside from taking up so much planning time, pre-prepared materials and resources can often have the effect of closing down or narrowing learners’ participation and agency in how and what they learn. How can a more ‘naked’ approach address some of these challenges? The webinar will also look at the influential ‘Dogme’ approach – borrowed from cinema, and applied to language teaching.
