Hope Not Hate’s work focuses on the organised far right, the communities who are susceptible to them and the issues and policies which give rise to them. Hope Not Hate runs sector specific briefings and seminars, which offer a deep dive into their research and data work to share what they know with partners and stakeholders.

For over 50 years has been linking, developing and supporting English language teaching professionals worldwide. From our humble origins in 1967 as a forum for English language teachers (ELT) and other professionals to make contact with one another and share ideas, we are now one of the largest and most internationally representative teaching associations in the world.

What are the connections between our experiences of literacy, culture and identity? Why do literacy theorists talk about ‘literacies’ rather than ‘literacy’? What does this mean for language teaching generally, and literacy learning in particular? What implications does it have for working with migrant learners? This LU webinar provides the opportunity for teachers to explore concepts of literacy from a theoretical perspective and relate this to their language and literacy teaching practices. It highlights practical strategies to support learners developing their own new language identities. Thursday 6th March, 4.30pm – 6.30pm (GMT)

Provides a professional forum for the teaching and learning of English as an additional language, supporting bilingualism, raising the achievement of ethnic minority learners, and promoting the development of research, policy and practice. Organising conferences and events, facilitate professional networks and produce various publications, including the popular and influential termly EAL Journal. NALDIC is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association.
