We have new information on our main Learning English in Yorkshire and Humber (LEHY) resource, including updated information for Hong Kong BN(O) visa holders.  Check the Hong Kong information tab on the front page for details of local authorities in the region that now offer free entry for BN(O)s to English classes in their area.

Just beside this, you will find our new ‘Going to University’ tab.  Follow the link here for our new information resource for forced migrants and others who are interested in Higher Education.  There is lots of information here to help you understand the rules and find the right course.

We are continuing to update all of our MESH-produced learning resources in the Resource Hub to make them more user-friendly. You will find ‘old favourites’ such as our resources on Health care in England, on warm spaces and on ‘what’s on near you’ revised and revamped, with easy access to slides and teacher notes.  Watch out also for new resources. We have recently published our new resource on Working in the UK.  Very useful for helping your learners to get used to the work culture.  This is based on Migration Yorkshire’s toolkit guide to finding employment for people new to the UK.

New feature.....Tell Us More

In the LE+ staffroom, you will find the first in our new series called Tell Us More.  This is an opportunity to find out more about useful initiatives for people working in the ESOL sector, by viewing a short interview with the key people. In the first in this series, John talks with Professor Emma Marsden of the University of York about the OASIS database – an online resource summarising the latest research on ESOL and other language research.  Very useful!
