    This course is designed to support participants to become more confident in:
    -analysing the English Language needs of their ESOL learners
    -planning teaching and learning activities to help learners develop their language awareness and the four English language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

    NATECLA Scotland – TESOL Training Toolkit Series – Self Expression: How to engage in conversation

    Additional Dates: 24 August 2024 | 30 November 2024

    Online 10:00 to 12:00. In this session we will explore ways to support speaking skills. We will explore the use of different strategies to develop students’ confidence and enable them to talk about what matters to them and allows the students’ voice to be heard. We will look at ways of differentiating activities for mixed ability classes and explore the teaching skills we need to get the best out of our learners. We will have a special focus on activities that are appropriate to students everyday life and seamlessly link with other skills so that learning is cohesive and holistic in its approach. £10 (NATECLA members), £20 (non-members), £5 (volunteers and unwaged people)

    ESOL Research Community event: ESOL practitioners as researchers

    Online at 4:00 – 5.30pm
    NATECLA are pleased to host three talks where the presenters will share their research journeys: what inspires them, how they overcome challenges and what they have learnt as ESOL practitioners engaging in research. Each talk will last 10 minutes with 5 minutes for questions, then the final 30 minutes will be for more general discussions on the issues raised by the presenters.
