Speak up for Sanctuary is a programme designed by City of Sanctuary UK to support people who may have little or no previous campaigning experience to recognise their power in making change, to speak up for refugee rights and to supercharge efforts to build welcoming and compassionate communities.

The course is perfect for people involved in City of Sanctuary groups and awarded organisations or anyone else hoping to turn their compassion into action.

NATECLA would like to invite all ESOL and Community Language related projects to produce a poster of their research which will be exhibited at their National Conference on 28th- 29th June.

In this webinar, Dr Philida Schellekens will present the findings of a recent ESOL Qualifications and Curriculum Review conducted by The Bell Foundation with input from adult education providers, further education colleges, local authorities, mayoral combined authorities, awarding bodies and policymakers.

Angela attended a day session in Sheffield exploring restrictions on asylum seekers’ right to work, and measures being taken in the city and beyond to challenge this. The session was organised by the University of Sheffield Migration Research Group and the Lift the Ban coalition.

As an addition to its prestigious Hornby Scholarship programme, the A.S. Hornby Educational Trust is inviting applications from experienced teachers of English who are now working with refugee communities in the UK. The successful applicant will join a group of Hornby scholars from a range of different countries to study on a one-year Masters in TESOL at the University of Exeter in the academic year 2024/25.
