Resources Hub

The Resource Hub is a collection of website links, documents, videos and audios for ESOL teachers. Whilst many are specifically ESOL resources, we’ve also included those that may be useful in a general ESOL context. We are currently building this comprehensive resource and will be adding regional and local materials. Do you have a resource to share? We encourage you to contact us if you want us to consider your resource for inclusion in the Resource Hub. We also welcome general suggestions for improvement. We hope you find this page useful and discover something new to enhance your teaching, fully unlocking the potential of your ESOL provision.
As well as collecting and presenting resources created by many providers and other agencies, MESH has an ever-expanding pool of resources created by our own qualified teaching team, covering a variety of useful topics such as using Council services, accessing the NHS, and volunteering. Our resources include presentation slides, film, audio, activities and associated teacher notes. Follow the link here to visit the MESH resource collection.

    Exploring and Belonging!
“Exploring and Belonging” is a project aimed at understanding the feelings of forced migrants, such as refugees and asylum seekers, regarding their sense of belonging in Yorkshire and Humber. The MESH team delivered sessions with these individuals to explore valued locations in their communities, often seen as local heritage sites. Participants also enhanced their English skills through structured sessions focused on this theme. Additionally, resources have been developed to support teachers in integrating these insights into their classrooms.

Teach English the Yorkshire Way - Video Resources
MESH have been busy this year getting out and about and meeting providers around the region who have something to offer to migrants. We got creative in partnership with Michael Godsall, a Leeds based film-maker. These three videos are a result of this project.
